What is the purpose of Maloca Internacionale?

Maloca Internationale, a Permanent Observer at the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO in Geneva, is a key advocate for Indigenous Peoples' intellectual property rights. Indigenous Peoples' knowledge, genetic resources, and traditional cultural expressions are highly valued and have historically been expropriated (bio-piracy) by the West.

Faced with this, our minimum standard is the recognition of Indigenous Peoples' moral rights over certain genetic resources' medicinal knowledge, and we hope to find sui generis formulas for the protection of their intellectual property, with  our presence in Geneva.
